High-resolution printed electronics for transparent electronics

Specialized printing techniques in printed electronics utilize conductive metal nanoparticle inks to create electrical devices on various substrates. Current electronic printing methods suffer from low resolutions, typically with wire widths starting from 1-10 μm. Inveel introduces an innovative, low-cost, high-resolution printing technology capable of producing 100 nanometer scale conductive wires and circuits on large areas. This advancement holds promise for enhancing miniaturized printed electronics circuits and sensors across diverse substrates, surpassing competitors in resolution while maintaining efficient production throughput and minimizing material costs. Inveel's technology also enables transparent applications, where ultra-thin wire diameters enable exceptional light transmission on transparent surfaces. This capability opens doors to a broad spectrum of optoelectronic and photonic applications, including highly sensitive sensors, optical filters, and electrodes. By enabling cost-effective production, Inveel paves the way for innovative solutions in transparent electronics.

Speaker

Dr. Barbara Horvath, CEO and co-founder of Inveel GmbH
Barbara Horvath earned her Ph.D. in 2012 through research conducted at the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) in Japan and the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Hungary. Following her doctoral studies, she pursued postdoctoral positions at NIMS and CNRS before joining the Paul Scherrer Institute from 2015 to 2019. Transitioning to the corporate sector in 2020, she excelled as an R&D Staff Engineer and Global Project Manager. Since 2024, she has served as CEO and co-founder of Inveel GmbH.

Moderator

Dr. Christian Bosshard, Managing Director Swissphotonics
Dr. Christian Bosshard received his degree in Physics (1986) and his doctorate (1991, Silver medal award) from ETH. From 2001-2021 he was working at CSEM, first as Section Head and then as Vice President and Head Photonics. Since 2013 he is Managing Director of Swissphotonics. Christian is a Fellow of Optica, Board Member of EPIC, and Member of the Board of the University of Basel.
